RAJANT + RAJANT HEALTH INCORPORATED (RHI) UNIFIED ARCHITECTURE
One Distributed Architecture For The Edge
The Rajant / RHI Unified Edge Stack brings traditionally separate communications, compute, sensing, security, software, and intelligence capabilities into a distributed architecture designed for operations that move, change, and cannot depend on fixed infrastructure.
It is neither simply a standalone Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) radio pipe nor a top-level Command-and-Control (C2) Common Operating Picture (COP). It brings Layer 2 peer-to-peer transport, multi-protocol sensor ingestion, distributed edge compute and application orchestration, and security capabilities into a broader edge operating environment.
Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh® communications foundation provides the resilient connectivity layer across which distributed compute, sensing, applications, intelligence, and autonomous systems can increasingly operate closer to where data is generated and action happens.

RAJANT + RHI UNIFIED ARCHITECTURE

FROM PHYSICAL DATA TO DISTRIBUTED ACTION
The Rajant / RHI architecture connects capabilities across the operational edge through six functional stages.

CONNECT
InstaMesh® / SlipStream
InstaMesh provides the Layer 2 peer-to-peer communications fabric connecting Rajant network nodes. Rather than depending on a central controller to determine network paths, InstaMesh continuously evaluates available connections and moves packets across the network as conditions change.
SlipStream extends Rajant networking into wired and other supported communications environments.
SECURE
RiSM
RiSM extends security capabilities into distributed communications and computing environments, helping protect data and workloads operating across the edge.
COMPUTE

DECIDE
AI / Applications
Applications, analytics, and AI workloads can operate closer to where data is generated and used, reducing unnecessary dependence on centralized infrastructure and enabling increasingly distributed decision support.
ACT
Autonomous Systems
People, machines, and autonomous platforms can use information and applications operating across the distributed architecture to respond closer to where events occur.

InstaMesh®
DATA-LINK FABRIC LAYER
WHAT IT IS:
A Layer 2 peer-to-peer data-link fabric that moves packets dynamically across available network paths without requiring a centralized network controller to determine those paths.
WHAT IT IS NOT:
InstaMesh is not a traditional Layer 3 MANET and does not rely on a central controller or IP routing table to choose paths.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Create and continuously adapt the Layer 2 communications fabric connecting Rajant network nodes.
CORA
DISTRIBUTED EDGE APPLICATION & ORCHESTRATION LAYER
WHAT IT IS:
CORA is the distributed edge application environment for running and coordinating containerized workloads on compatible edge resources, including when continuous connectivity to a centralized cloud is unavailable.
CORA extends computing beyond a single centralized server by enabling workloads to operate closer to the systems generating and using data.
WHAT IT IS NOT:
A third-party software plugin or an architecture inherently dependent on centralized cloud execution.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Coordinate distributed application and compute execution across compatible edge resources.
SAS
SENSOR & DATA INGESTION LAYER
WHAT IT IS:
A multi-protocol edge telemetry ingestion capability designed to connect physical and digital data sources with applications operating at the edge.

WHAT IT IS NOT:
A centralized database or enterprise data lake.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Bridge physical-world data sources with distributed applications and edge-compute environments.
RiSM / RPT
SECURITY LAYER
WHAT IT IS:

These capabilities are intended to help protect sensitive data, applications, and workloads operating across distributed physical assets.
WHAT IT IS NOT:
Simply application-level security or conventional VPN functionality layered onto the architecture.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Extend security closer to the hardware, communications, and workloads operating at the distributed edge.
APT
LAYER 2 EXTENSION
WHAT IT IS:
APT is Rajant’s tunneling function for extending the Layer 2 fabric across supported external networks.
WHAT IT IS NOT:
A security module or standalone application environment.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Extend Rajant’s Layer 2 communications fabric across supported external network infrastructure.
FLYING COWBELL / EDGE COMPUTE HARDWARE
HARDWARE PAYLOAD LAYER
WHAT IT IS:
Purpose-built edge compute and networking hardware designed to bring communications and processing resources directly onto physical platforms and into operational environments.
Depending on configuration, these platforms can combine edge-compute resources with Rajant communications capabilities in form factors designed for mobile and distributed operations.
WHAT IT IS NOT:
Simply a sensor or autonomous platform.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Bring communications and compute closer to the systems generating, moving, and acting on data.
How Components Work Together
FROM DATA TO ACTION ACROSS THE DISTRIBUTED EDGE
Rajant technologies solve different problems, but their broader value comes from how those capabilities can work together.

RiSM extends protection onto distributed nodes.
Together, these technologies form the basis for distributed applications and autonomous operations without requiring every workload to depend on centralized infrastructure.
Category Disambiguation
NOT JUST A RADIO. NOT A C2 APPLICATION.
Transport products move data. C2 applications visualize and coordinate it. The Rajant / RHI architecture is the distributed edge layer between those categories.
Rajant’s communications technology remains foundational to the architecture, but communications are not the limit of the combined Rajant / RHI capability.
Traditional communications systems primarily move data between endpoints. Top-level C2 applications primarily consume, visualize, and coordinate information.
The Rajant / RHI architecture occupies a broader distributed-edge role by bringing resilient communications together with compute, sensor and data ingestion, security, software, applications, and intelligence closer to the systems where operations occur.
