MACHINE-TO-MACHINE COLLABORATION AT THE EDGE
NATIVE ROBOT-TO-ROBOT (R2R) AUTONOMOUS PLATFORM
AUTONOMY WITHOUT CENTRALIZED DEPENDENCE
The Rajant / Rajant Health Incorporated (RHI) architecture gives robots and unmanned systems a native robot-to-robot operating model. Machines communicate, share operational data, run applications locally, and coordinate across a peer-to-peer edge environment without requiring every interaction to pass through a ground control station, cloud environment, or centralized controller.
THE PROBLEM
AUTONOMY SHOULD NOT DEPEND ON A CENTRAL CONTROLLER
Many unmanned systems operate through a Robot-to-Control-Station model. Drones, unmanned ground vehicles, sensors, and other autonomous platforms send information back through a ground control station, IP gateway, or centralized environment to coordinate action.
That architecture can create dependencies on centralized connectivity and infrastructure precisely where operations are most distributed, mobile, and dynamic.
Rajant / RHI R2R changes that model.
R2R enables physical autonomous systems to communicate and collaborate directly across Rajant’s peer-to-peer communications foundation while distributed edge technologies extend sensing, compute, applications, and intelligence closer to the machines themselves.
HOW R2R WORKS
DIRECT MACHINE DISCOVERY AND CONNECTIVITY
InstaMesh® Layer 2
InstaMesh provides the Layer 2 peer-to-peer communications fabric connecting machines across the R2R environment.
Without requiring a centralized network controller to determine packet paths, InstaMesh continuously evaluates available connections and moves data across the network as machines move and conditions change.
Autonomous platforms entering the network can establish connectivity with other reachable nodes without requiring every interaction to be coordinated through centralized network infrastructure.
SENSOR AND DATA INTEROPERABILITY
SAS
Autonomous systems generate and consume data through different sensors, platforms, protocols, and applications.
SAS provides the sensor and data ingestion layer for connecting supported physical and digital data sources with applications operating across the distributed edge.
This allows information generated by different machines and sensors to become available to distributed applications and workflows without requiring every platform to operate as an isolated data environment.
DISTRIBUTED APPLICATION EXECUTION
CORA
CORA runs on Cowbell nodes and clusters, where it orchestrates containerized and non-containerized applications, moves data, and continues AI execution when centralized connectivity is unavailable.
By moving application execution and workload orchestration closer to the autonomous systems generating and acting on data, CORA reduces dependence on continuous connectivity to centralized cloud or control infrastructure.
Machines can discover reachable peers across the mesh, exchange operational data, and run applications locally while CORA continues application and AI execution across compatible edge resources.
DISTRIBUTED SECURITY
RiSM / RPT
Autonomous systems operating across distributed environments require protection that extends beyond centralized infrastructure.
RiSM and related security capabilities extend protection closer to the communications, compute, applications, and physical platforms operating across the distributed edge.
This creates a security foundation for autonomous systems operating across mobile and distributed environments.
WHAT R2R ENABLES
MACHINES THAT COMMUNICATE, COORDINATE AND ACT
R2R enables machines to communicate, share operational data, coordinate through local applications, and act without every interaction depending on centralized infrastructure.
DIRECT MACHINE-TO-MACHINE COMMUNICATION
Robots and autonomous systems can exchange data directly across Rajant’s peer-to-peer communications environment.
DISTRIBUTED COORDINATION
Applications and workloads operate closer to the machines generating and using information, allowing coordination across distributed autonomous systems without requiring every interaction to return through a centralized controller.
CROSS-PLATFORM DATA SHARING
Supported sensors, machines, and applications make operational data available across a broader distributed environment.
COLLABORATIVE AUTONOMY
Multiple autonomous systems can communicate and coordinate across a common distributed architecture rather than requiring every interaction to return through a central controller.
RESILIENT MOBILE OPERATIONS
As machines move and network conditions change, Rajant’s communications foundation continuously evaluates available paths and moves data across the network.
EDGE EXECUTION
Applications, analytics, AI processing, and decision support operate closer to the autonomous systems generating and acting on information, including when centralized connectivity is unavailable.
