The Rajant Needletail is a BreadCrumb node that enables ultra high throughput connections between your wired network and your Kinetic Mesh® network. Needletail contains all the functionality of a BreadCrumb, but without the radios. After installation, it takes over the role of bridging your wired network to any other BreadCrumbs on the same Ethernet segment. It handles any necessary encryption or decryption to guarantee safe and efficient delivery of voice, video, and data traffic. With the help of Rajant’s exclusive Automatic Protocol Tunneling (APT) feature, which works in tandem with other BreadCrumb nodes, network operators can create multiple Layer 2 connection points between wired LAN and Kinetic Mesh networks with the Needletail, increasing capacity and removing single points of failure. In addition, Rajant’s Remote Protocol Tunneling (RPT) offers reliable remote connections that can pass through routers / gateways and traverse the Internet.
